Description
A big fridge, cold bedroom air-con and a seriously comfortable bed make Tara House a strong base near Saladan Pier. The rooms feel more like small apartments than a standard hotel box, with a sink, kitchenette counter, fan, hot shower and enough towel space to survive a longer stay without turning laundry into a lifestyle.
The balcony and front garden are the bits that lift it above a purely practical stopover. Breakfast cafés, restaurants and laundries sit nearby, while the beach is a short walk across the main road. Monkeys pass through the trees and occasionally patrol the roof, because Koh Lanta’s wildlife has never respected property boundaries.
Proper self-catering is off the menu. The kitchenette has a fridge and sink, not a hob, pans or cooking kit, so it handles fruit, drinks and leftovers. The location also sits close to a mosque, with amplified calls to prayer including early morning.
Saladan makes a handy launch point for ferries, dive boats and island exploring, and Tara House gives longer stays room to spread out. Pick a room away from the parking area and keep balcony food packed away; the monkeys have excellent timing.
