Seafood dinners shared around the family table are the heartbeat of Sunshine Homestay on Koh Por. Tam’s cooking leans into whatever has come from the water, and meals arrive in proper quantities.
The bungalows sit over the sea, with wave noise under the floorboards and sunrise straight across the water. Days can involve kayaking to the nearby village, fishing, or joining Bang Cha for some Shaolin moves – a holiday with a slightly unexpected martial-arts subplot.
Boat transfers from Lanta Old Town, meals, kayak use and a motorbike are part of the stay. This is a small family homestay for travellers who want island life stripped back to sea, food and quiet, not pool bars and laminated cocktail menus.
Bring your own towel and be ready for simple water facilities. Stay at least two nights; the first evening disappears into dinner, and the second gives Koh Por time to do its quiet little thing.
