Sayang Beach Resort
Description
Long Beach starts at Sayang’s doorstep, with sandy water, sunset views and bungalows scattered through a leafy garden. The seafront and Rimley bungalows get the ocean view; standard units trade that for a cheaper bed near the beach.
The restaurant does proper Thai beach-food duty: pad Thai, fresh evening fish, coconut shakes and cocktails with the sea doing most of the decorating. A small coffee bar pulls barista coffee, which is a rare bit of civilisation before a long beach walk.
Rooms are spacious and deliberately simple, with basic bathrooms and an old-school bungalow feel. Mosquito nets are provided, and some standard bungalows have gaps that make them more useful than decorative. Beds run firm, air-conditioners can be loud, and the shower area can leave the bathroom floor wet – Thailand’s traditional argument against socks.
Sayang suits beach-first stays, not polished-resort expectations. The north end of Long Beach stays quieter after dark, while beach bars and restaurants sit within a short walk in both directions.
