Royal Lanta Resort & Spa
Description
Klong Dao’s flat sand starts right at Royal Lanta’s garden edge, with beach villas, Thai-style houses and two pools spread through mature paths. The setting has more charm than polish, which matters here because Klong Dao is built for long beach days, small children and avoiding a scooter mission before breakfast.
Family bungalows with bunk beds give four people room to exist without turning luggage into furniture. Garden-view bungalows are the sensible pick for space and privacy; the poolside family suites sit closer to reception. Beach villas carry the better location and the classic resort look.
The older buildings show their age. Standard and superior rooms are functional, and outdoor-style bathrooms will not win over anyone who needs hotel design to involve four solid walls. Wi-Fi is too slow for streaming, so digital nomads should keep moving.
A 7-Eleven sits close by, while the beachfront loungers and shallow, easy-walking sand make this a strong base for families. Sunset from the beach in front of the resort is the bit to remember, not the decorative latch on the balcony door.
