Redrock Lanta Beach Resort & Villas
Description
Sunrise lands straight across the red-rock shoreline here, with every room facing the sea and the pool taking the same front-row position. It is one of Koh Lanta’s better east-coast hideouts for dawn light, moonrises and a night sky not diluted by beach-bar neon.
The rooms are spacious, clean and built for sleeping properly, with breakfast brought to the room and good coffee alongside it. The private beach is pebbly, but the water views and silence are the point. Monkeys, bats, birds and flying squirrels turn up around the national-park edge, because this corner of Lanta has declined the island’s usual souvenir-shop diplomacy.
Old Town is a short drive away for shops, cash machines and food beyond the two nearby restaurants. Rent a scooter on site or arrange transport; walking out for supplies is a bad plan in flip-flops and optimism.
Redrock suits anyone happy to trade west-coast sunsets and nightlife for an east-coast morning worth getting out of bed for. The pool above the rocky beach is the spot to claim before sunrise.
