Phuchawee Lanta
Description
The infinity pool looks straight across the Andaman Sea, with sunsets doing most of the decorative work. Phuchawee Lanta sits on a green hillside near the jungle, with private villas, sea views and enough bird and monkey noise to remind you that the landscaping extends well beyond the garden.
Several houses have proper living space: kitchen, lounge, bathroom and balconies. The better villas feel like small homes, especially for longer stays, and the pool is the place to spend the late afternoon with a cold drink from the bar.
The beach is a short walk downhill, while nearby restaurants and supermarkets are close enough to reach on foot. A scooter still helps on this part of the island, particularly after dark and for exploring beyond the local strip.
This place suits travellers who want a villa base with privacy, foliage and a big-view pool, not polished resort theatre. The hillside setting means jungle insects and lizards are part of the address, while the treehouse and sea-facing pool make a much better case for staying in than most hotel lobbies ever manage.
