Phra Ae Apartments
Description
The rear gate opens almost directly onto KoHub, which makes Phra Ae Apartments one of the sharper bases on Phra Ae for anyone planning to work between beach breaks. The rooms are large, with proper desks, strong air conditioning, fast Wi-Fi, big beds and enough kitchen kit for a few low-effort meals.
A fridge, kettle, toaster and microwave put these ahead of the usual island room with a suspiciously tiny minibar. Google TV handles Netflix and YouTube, while hot showers, towels and regular cleaning remove several small annoyances from the long-stay equation.
The main road location puts cheap Thai food, restaurants, bars and 7-Eleven within a short walk. Long Beach is about five minutes away on foot, and scooters can be parked on site. Rooms facing away from the road are the quieter pick; Cheeky Monkey Bar sits next door, so silence is not part of its business model.
Laundry and scooter rental are available on site, with tour leaflets at the front desk for island days that require more planning than crossing the road to KoHub. Uncle O’s across the road is the sensible dinner shortcut after a screen-heavy afternoon.
