Description
Sunset from the bamboo beds at New Ozone lands straight over Klong Khong Beach, with a bar, restaurant and massage hut all within sandal range. The big trees throw proper shade across the sand, and the beachfront bungalows put the sea outside the door.
Book a Deluxe or beachfront bungalow, not the standard concrete rooms. The better bungalows are spacious, air-conditioned and fitted with a small fridge and smart TV, while the cheaper rooms are stripped-back accommodation with clinical lighting and decor from an era that made several regrettable wall-art decisions.
The beach bar is the strongest part of the place. Breakfast by the water, Thai food, cold drinks and a long sunset sit are the entire agenda, which is rather the point. Massage is on site, and motorbike hire saves a trip up the road.
Klong Khong’s rocky shelf makes the sea awkward at low tide, so use the beach for shade, sunsets and wandering. Beachfront bungalow guests get the proper version of New Ozone; everyone else gets a cheap room near a very good bar.
