Sunset drinks from the seafront bar are the thing to plan around here. Moonlight Bay sits on a green, spread-out stretch of Kantiang Bay, with beach villas and higher rooms looking straight across the water as the sky gets theatrical.
Beachfront villas and sea-view rooms are the pick for the full show. Rooms 210, 211 and 212 have particularly clean ocean sightlines, while garden rooms put the pool, restaurant and beach closer together. Pool-access rooms have their own appeal, though they sit farther from the bar and main pool.
The private beach is small, quiet and rocky, with coral, shells and fish along the shallows. Treat it as a place for sitting, snorkelling near shore and escaping the busier sands, not for an effortless long swim. The rocks have other plans.
Breakfast is made to order, and the restaurant handles relaxed lunches and dinners without requiring a scooter mission. There is also a gym, yoga, table tennis, massage by the sea, scooter rental and villa plunge pools for anyone determined to leave the island with fewer functioning muscles than they arrived with.
Kantiang Bay is removed from Saladan’s bustle, so this suits a slow-stay crowd, sunset loyalists and couples who prefer a resort evening to chasing nightlife. The hillside paths add a proper walk between some rooms and the waterfront.
