Moonbar sits within Moonlight Bay Resort, above the water with a clean, modern terrace and music running behind the waves. The view faces the right direction for sunset, so arrive before the light starts doing its expensive-looking thing.
Cocktails are the strong suit here. The Cosmopolitan is sharp and balanced, the Long Island has enough backbone to justify its name, and the drinks cost less than the setting suggests. This is a slow-drinking bar, built for staring at the sea and losing track of a perfectly manageable amount of time.
The resort location keeps it quieter than the busier roadside bars. Couples and small groups will get more from it than anyone hunting pool tables, football screens, or an evening that ends with somebody attempting karaoke in flip-flops.
