Marina Hut Guest House

Description

The café terrace downstairs does cheap, tasty Thai food, and the beach sits directly across the road. Marina Hut is for travellers who’d rather spend on boat trips and beach beers than polished resort plumbing.

Rooms are basic, with private bathrooms, air conditioning, fridges, kettles and balconies in some units. Beds are large and comfortable, and the road outside has shops, bars and restaurants within a short walk. Despite the busy strip, the rooms stay quiet at night.

Nung runs the place with proper island know-how. She sorts scooter hire, maps and island trips, including Ko Rok and Ko Haa, without sending you into the sort of speedboat arrangement that ends in an unexpected wet-shirt competition.

The beach sunsets opposite are the real evening plan, with the national park a short ride away. Pick a room here for a straightforward base in the middle of the action, then claim a terrace table before the café fills up.
