Malee Sirin Old Town Resort
Description
A five-minute stroll puts you on Lanta Old Town’s waterfront, with the 7-Eleven practically behind the building for midnight water runs and emergency toasties. Malee Sirin is a compact, good-value base on the island’s quieter east side.
Rooms are simple, clean and properly equipped for a longer stop: large beds, fridge, kettle, hairdryer, toiletries and daily fresh towels. The air-conditioned rooms are quiet enough for sleeping, though water pressure is low and the handheld shower hose is short.
Old Town’s restaurants and wooden sea-view walkways sit close by, but this side of Lanta is not built around beach days. Rent a scooter here and use it to reach the west-coast sand, national park roads and the rest of the island; without wheels, your map will start looking smug.
Parking is easy, scooters and tours can be arranged on site, and the rooms suit travellers who want a clean launchpad. Stay here for Old Town dinners, early ferry connections and a slower corner of Lanta, then point the scooter west when the beach calls.
