Malee Beach Villas
Description
Private pools, sea-facing terraces and a two-minute beach walk are the point at Malee Beach Villas. The beachfront units catch the Phi Phi islands across the water, with sunset doing its nightly bit of theatre without requiring a ticket.
These are proper holiday houses, not hotel rooms with a kettle and ambitions. Kitchens are well equipped, some villas include washing machines, and the gardens give each plot more breathing room than most Long Beach stays manage. Turtle Bar sits next door for a lazy lunch or sunset drink.
Villa choice matters here. Beachfront A villas deliver the big view and immediate sand access, while second-row homes still sit close enough to hear the sea without sleeping in it. A few layouts have steep spiral or upper-floor stairs, and some larger villas have limited bathrooms, so check the floor plan before committing.
The compound sits away from Saladan’s bustle, which is precisely why it works for a slow week with a scooter. Shops, restaurants and yoga are close by, but island exploring needs wheels; Koh Lanta has not yet installed a useful public transport system, presumably to preserve its mysteries.
