Lanta Local Hut
Description
Bamboo huts with a hammock terrace, private bathroom, fan and mosquito net are the whole proposition here. The rooms are basic, cheap and close enough to the beach that shoes feel optional.
Breakfast is included, and the road nearby has a 7-Eleven plus enough restaurants to avoid surviving on toast. Arun can sort scooters, taxis, ferry tickets and island trips, which saves the usual holiday ritual of comparing handwritten signs outside travel shops.
The beach sits a couple of minutes away, but the reef and low-tide rocks make it poor swimming territory. Use it for a walk, sunset and dinner by the sand; take the scooter for a proper swim.
This place suits Budget travellers and Solo traveler types who want a private hut without paying resort money. Expect bamboo walls, fan cooling, insects from time to time, and no hot shower – civilisation has been invited, but only for breakfast.
