Lanta Castaway Beach Resort
Description
Sea Breeze bungalows sit a few minutes from the sand at the quiet end of Long Beach, with sunsets framed from the beach bar. The beach here is broad, swimmable and calm enough for children, so the lack of a resort pool barely registers.
The rooms are bungalow-simple, but they cover the useful bits properly: cold air-con, strong Wi-Fi, daily water, beach towels, mosquito repellent and enough bathroom kit to avoid a midnight run to the minimart. Garden-view rooms stay quiet, and the grounds are packed with mature planting.
Breakfast is ordered from a menu beside the sea, with Thai plates, Mexican options and proper Western staples. The beach restaurant also does wide noodle dishes, cocktails, cider and fajitas, while the on-site massage hut handles the post-snorkelling repair work.
Families should look at the two-bedroom bungalow setup; couples should take the smaller villas and spend sunset at the bar. Long Beach has louder, flashier patches, but Castaway’s end keeps the soundtrack to waves, cicadas and the occasional scooter returning from a heroic expedition for snacks.
