Lanta Amara Resort
Description
Long Beach sits a few minutes down the lane, while Lanta Amara’s big, modern rooms give you far more elbow room than most budget stays nearby. The bathrooms are large and recently finished, the air conditioning keeps its voice down, and proper closing windows are a small luxury on an island built partly from optimism.
Balconies and bungalow terraces are useful. Dry swimwear, read between beach sessions, or occupy the hammock until someone else needs it more. Daily room cleaning, fresh towels, drinking water and laundry keep longer stays pleasantly low-fuss.
The main road location puts a bakery directly across the street and Malina’s close enough for Thai food without mounting a transport expedition. Motorbikes are available on site, handy for Old Town, the national park, and the bits of Koh Lanta that refuse to fit into a beach day.
Pick an upper-floor room for more open views, or a bungalow for the private terrace. Mattresses run firm, and road-facing rooms catch traffic after dark; the neighbouring pool is the better afternoon option when Long Beach has delivered sufficient sand to your belongings.
