Hub Of Joys
Description
Three egg styles, toast, fruit, coffee and juice put Hub Of Joys ahead of the usual bare-bones Long Beach hostel breakfast. The little kitchen also turns out filling pad thai, fried rice and green curry, so a lazy evening needn’t involve wandering the road in a damp sarong.
The hostel sits a short walk from Long Beach, beside Muay Thai training and across from convenience stores, cafes and restaurants. It is calm enough to sleep, social enough to meet other travellers, and the common areas keep coffee, tea and popcorn going through the day.
Check-in happens in the building on the right when facing the two properties from the road; the other sits four buildings away. Dorm beds have curtains, towels and basic toiletries, while upper-floor rooms mean a proper stair climb with luggage (Koh Lanta does enjoy testing the knees).
Budget solo travellers get the most from it: shared dorm energy, beach access and a base for island days. The bathrooms are limited for the number of beds, lockers are small, and the mattresses run firm. Motorbike rental and trip bookings are available on site, while the beach remains close enough for a quick sunset escape.
