Deep House Sea View
Description
Sunrise lands straight on the bamboo deck at Deep House Sea View, with mangroves, mudskippers and brahminy kites taking over the view before breakfast. The corner bungalow has the widest sightline across the tidal flats, and the sea changes the whole show twice a day.
These are wooden, bamboo-built rooms over the water, reached along a bamboo walkway from a traditional Old Town house. Bedrooms are compact but enclosed, with air-conditioning, a fan and comfortable beds; outside, the deck is where the hours disappear with alarming efficiency.
Old Town’s restaurants and shops are close enough to reach on foot, while the east-coast setting puts you near the pier for boat trips. Sareena can sort scooter rental, laundry, transfers and island tours, which is useful because the west-coast beaches are a proper ride away.
Stay here for the over-water cabin experience, quiet mornings and a front-row seat to Lanta’s mangrove wildlife. Swimming is not the point – this shoreline is tidal mudflat, not a beach – but waking up above it is considerably better than staring at another hotel car park.
