Description
Sunsets from the sand-edge pool are Coconut Bay’s strongest card, with the Andaman spread straight across the front and a small bay below. The pool does the serious swimming job; the beach is best at low tide, when more sand appears and the waterline stops playing hide-and-seek.
Accommodation ranges from rooms and studios to roomy villas and a penthouse, with some units carrying private pools. Balconies face the sea, the setting stays quiet after dark, and the south-coast position leaves enough space between you and the island’s busier strips.
Two restaurants and a cafe sit next door, covering breakfast, dinner and sundowners without firing up the scooter. For Old Town, Long Beach, supermarkets or nightlife, wheels are part of the arrangement; this end of Koh Lanta is built for slow mornings and a scooter parked outside.
The buildings have some age on them, and a few studios show it around the edges. Book Coconut Bay for a villa-style stay, private beach access and pool sunsets, not for polished resort theatre with a bellboy materialising from a shrub.
