The infinity pool sits almost on Klong Dao Beach, with sunset straight ahead and sand a few steps beyond it. Cha-Ba’s best feature is that geography: beach, pool, restaurant, minimart, massage shops and the road’s restaurant strip all land within a very short walk.
The beachfront bungalows are the pick for space, sea views and distance from the pool-side family noise. Pool-view rooms put children close to the water and the colourful common areas, where painted walls, sculptures and a small art display give the place its slightly bonkers character. Toi’s artwork is everywhere, which beats another beige resort pretending it invented cushions.
The restaurant does reliable Thai food, straightforward international plates, fruit shakes and breakfast, with sunset drinks by the pool. Families get the useful combination of a shallow-day occupation and a swimmable stretch of Klong Dao in front; solo travellers get a sociable base without needing a motorbike for dinner.
Rooms range from larger beach bungalows to tighter garden units, and the older build shows in places. Book a beachfront bungalow for the setting; book a garden room only when the beach and pool matter more than the room itself.
