Description
Terraced bungalows climb a small hill above the road, with sea on one side and forest on the other. Hammocks hang outside the rooms, cats patrol the paths, and the evening soundtrack is crickets.
Rooms are simple, clean and properly practical: fan or air-con options, mini fridges in some units, chairs outside, and enough space to stop feeling like luggage storage. Fan rooms run hot in daylight, while the hill catches cooler air after dark. Thin bungalow doors also let the morning jungle orchestra through (nature’s alarm clock has no snooze button).
Oi’s kitchen is a serious reason to stay put for dinner. Thai rice soup, big breakfasts, comforting meals for unsettled stomachs, and vegetarian-friendly cooking give the place more substance than the average bungalow restaurant. Scooter hire, tour bookings, transfers and laundry are handled on site, so the logistics of island life don’t require a separate expedition.
The beach, restaurants and 7-Eleven are a walk downhill, while a scooter puts the island’s main stretches within easy reach. Cat Bungalow suits Budget travellers, Solo traveler and Vegetarian friendly stays; the steep approach is less charming with heavy bags.
