Description
The pool, hammocks and nightly fire pit give Blanco Hostel more living space than most Long Beach hostels manage with three buildings and a prayer. The beach is a two-minute walk away, with sunset close enough to catch before dinner without planning an expedition.
Dorm rooms run up to eight beds and have two bathrooms, with daily cleaning. There are no bed curtains, and the bungalow bathrooms are wet rooms, so pack a dry bag for your toiletries.
The bar kitchen does cheap Thai and Western food, with fried rice, passion-fruit smoothies and toast-heavy breakfasts covering the budget end well. Pool parties, open-bar nights, shared dinners and island trips keep the place social; daytime stays calmer, with enough shaded corners to read or recover from last night’s decisions.
Scooter hire and beginner lessons are available on site, useful because Koh Lanta gets much bigger once the wheels start turning. Blanco suits solo travellers who want easy company and a beach base, not anyone seeking a silent, curtain-equipped dormitory.
