Be Faanny House
Description
A king-size mattress on the floor, a working mosquito net and a fan that earns its electricity bill – Be Faanny House gets the basics right for a cheap bungalow stay near the beach. Each bamboo hut has its own bathroom, kettle and hot-and-cold shower.
The cabins stay cool at night, with lizards ticking about on the roof as part of the soundtrack. Road noise and early rooster calls reach the rooms, so light sleepers should pack earplugs unless dawn poultry is their preferred alarm system.
Restaurants, bars, the beach and 7-Eleven sit close by, leaving little reason to rent a motorbike for every cold drink. Reception keeps drinking water, cups and coffee around, which is useful after a sandy walk back.
This place suits budget travellers who want a private hut and proper sleep without paying for polished resort furniture. The bungalow entrance has a high step, followed by three steps down into the bathroom, making it a poor fit for limited mobility. Pick a hut away from the road for the quieter end of the plot.
