Bakantiang Resort
Description
Balcony bathtubs facing Kantiang Bay are the booking worth making here. The wood-and-bamboo nest rooms have huge balconies, loungers, strong air-conditioning and beds so comfortable they risk turning a beach holiday into a nap-based research project.
The pool sits high above the bay with a broad sea view, and the restaurant handles a proper green chicken curry and fresh coconut. Sunset from the upper terrace is the reason to linger after the beach, particularly with Kantiang’s hills turning gold below.
Bakantiang Beach, local restaurants, a 7-Eleven and the pharmacy sit downhill within a short walk. The resort can arrange scooters, transfers and island snorkelling trips, useful on this quieter southern stretch where wheels solve most logistical mysteries.
Pick a room with a full sea view if the outlook matters. Some bungalows look through the trees, and the resort rises sharply from the road, so the return walk involves steps and a small amount of character building.
