Free coffee, a leafy garden and rooms with proper air-con make Baan Longhaad a strong base for Long Beach without paying resort money. The bungalows are simple, clean and well spaced, with terraces for the bit between beach and dinner when nobody can agree on a plan.
Kai keeps the place running with the useful local stuff sorted: scooter rental, onward transport and national-park pointers. There are private bungalows plus dorm beds with lockers, so it works for solo travellers who want a quieter sleep than the main road offers.
Long Beach sits about ten minutes away on foot, reached through the neighbouring beachfront properties. Shops are directly across the road, while restaurants and bars are close enough to walk to without appointing a designated scooter rider.
Breakfast is basic toast and marmalade, so save your appetite for one of the nearby cafés. Light sleepers should pack earplugs: the resident chickens start their own morning programming with spectacular confidence.
