Description
The mixed berry smoothie bowl arrives thick, cold and loaded with fruit, closer to breakfast than a decorative cup of pink ice. It is the strongest reason to stop here, alongside coffee that holds up properly against Koh Lanta’s many beige excuses for a flat white.
Breakfast is the other serious business. Avocado scrambled egg toast comes with a generous fresh salad and microgreens, while the full English has notably good sausages, fried bacon, mushrooms, beans and a potato omelette. Pancakes, egg-and-cheddar sandwiches and warm toast handle the less ambitious mornings without drama.
Thai dishes are far from an afterthought. The paneang curry with fried tofu runs sweet and rich, massaman tofu curry has depth, and the pineapple fried rice stays mild enough for spice-averse eaters. Red curry chicken and teriyaki chicken don are proper lunch material, not café food pretending to own a wok.
Inside has air conditioning and a few tables; outside seating catches the slower island rhythm. It is small and not built for laptop colonisation, which leaves the tables available for eating – a radical concept apparently. Cash is the only payment option, so arrive with baht.
