Description
The chocolate caramel cake is the reason to detour into Old Town: a buttery crust, a thin caramel layer and a serious slab of chocolate on top. It eats closer to a tart than a fluffy cake, with enough bitterness to stop the whole thing becoming a sugar ambush.
Cheesecake has a devoted following too, and the counter changes with homemade cakes, cookies and bread. Coffee is taken seriously, whether that means a proper cappuccino, matcha latte or tea, and oat milk is available.
Breakfast is more than a token banana-and-toast operation. Fried potatoes with mango salad makes a fine savoury escape route after two days of island smoothies, while the house orange jam belongs on anything within reach.
The room is small, music-led and pleasantly unhurried, with good speakers doing far more useful work than most decorative surfboards. Midday closure is part of the rhythm; Siam Home Cafe carries the same coffee and baking later in the day.
