Honda Clicks, ADV scooters and near-new helmets are the useful bit at Max Travel & Tour, two minutes’ walk from Saladan Pier. Pick up a bike straight off the ferry and avoid the traditional first-hour hunt for wheels in island heat.
The fleet is kept in strong condition, with small scooters for beach hopping and bigger Honda ADV bikes for anyone planning proper mileage. Old Town, the national park and the southern beaches are all far less faff with your own transport. Take photos of the bike and accessories before leaving – standard island-rental common sense, not a ritual to summon paperwork demons.
This shop also sorts airport vans, private tuk-tuks, tickets, laundry and activity bookings from the same counter. It is particularly handy for a short Koh Lanta stay, when arranging transport and a scooter in one stop leaves more daylight for riding.
The rental deposit is substantial, so carry enough cash or use a passport deposit where required. Message ahead if you need to extend a rental; the shop handles longer hires through WhatsApp. The pier-side location matters most on arrival day, before Saladan’s taxi negotiations have had time to become a hobby.
