Description
Klong Dao’s long, firm sand starts a few steps beyond Lanta Island Resort, with enough room for a proper beach run and sunsets straight across the Andaman. The resort sits among thick gardens and separate bungalows, so the road-side entrance gives away very little.
The newer bungalows are the pick: spacious, clean, private, and fitted with strong air-con. Verandas are good for early coffee with birds in the trees, while the pool gives you a break from saltwater and sand. Cats patrol the grounds with considerable confidence (they appear to have acquired the leasehold).
Beachfront yoga, massage and a daily ice bath add useful extras without turning the place into a wellness cult. Scooters, bicycles, laundry and Old Town transport can be arranged at reception, and the mini mart covers the forgotten sunscreen-and-snacks problem.
Stay here for Klong Dao access, bungalow privacy and a quiet base within walking distance of the beach-road restaurants and night market. Saturday brings a fire show nearby; most evenings remain calm, which is precisely the point.
