Description
Ko Lek sits straight across the water from the terrace, with the southern Lanta coastline spilling away beneath it. Heaven Hill earns the detour for that wide, high-up sea view, especially at sunrise when the island is still mostly asleep.
Coffee is taken seriously here. The cappuccino, Americano and iced latte land properly, and the smoothies are a strong excuse to linger over the view. Breakfast has more ambition than a packet of toast: yogurt, muesli, fruit and coconut milk makes a light start before a ride around the coast.
Later on, the kitchen moves into Thai food and seafood from the barbecue, with cold beer and swing seats aimed firmly at long, horizontal afternoons. The matcha latte comes sweet, so pick coffee or a smoothie if sugar isn’t your preferred personality trait.
There are bungalows on the hill too, with older rooms and the same ridiculous outlook over the bays. The small island below is reachable on foot in the morning, which is a far better use of tidal geography than taking another photo of a smoothie.
