Apple pie, carrot cake and iced americanos are the reason Fika gets repeat stops on the way along Long Beach. Lisa’s baking has proper Scandinavian comfort behind it: rich carrot cake, sweet cookies and an apple pie that deserves a fork.
Downstairs is a warm, Swedish-leaning café with soft yellow light, plants and enough good corners to make a travel-planning afternoon disappear. Coffee is taken seriously here, especially the iced latte and americano. The bolognese is the substantial option when cake alone has stopped qualifying as lunch.
Upstairs, Fika turns into a paid coworking setup with separate work areas, adjustable desks and chairs, laptop stands, printers, plentiful sockets, air conditioning and a rooftop sitting area. Blankets on the chairs are a small masterstroke; Lanta’s coworking air-con often behaves as though it has a personal grudge against body temperature.
Laptops belong upstairs after the short café allowance, so don’t arrive expecting to colonise a downstairs table for half a day over one cappuccino. Digital nomads who want a calm desk and a proper cake break will get far more from Fika than beach-bar laptop campers.
