Description
Scooters, small motorbikes and mountain bikes are the actual business at Coffee Ma’am, despite the name suggesting a cappuccino with opinions. The small scooters suit island errands and short runs along the main road, while larger bikes give taller riders less to negotiate with.
Check the vehicle before leaving. Test both brakes, tyres, lights, speedometer and phone holder, then photograph the condition from every angle. Koh Lanta’s roads reward this sort of dull competence, particularly after rain.
The mountain bikes are the better pick for a slower day around the flatter southern lanes. Racing-style bicycles are a serious fit, not a lazy beach-road rental, so make sure the riding position works before committing to a long loop.
Coffee Ma’am is for independent riders who know their way around a basic vehicle check and want a cheap set of wheels. Fuel up along the main road before heading south; shops become thin on the ground past Klong Nin.
