Bakantiang Beach
Description
Soft gold sand, low waves and a broad curve of bay make Bakantiang Beach the south-island swim spot. Even at low tide, there is enough sandy waterline for a proper dip, especially along the southern stretch where the rocks thin out.
The beach sits beneath forested hills and feels properly removed from the busy middle of Lanta. Most of the development gathers at the northern end, leaving long quiet sections for towels, sunset walks and staring at the horizon with impressive commitment.
Why Not Bar gives the beach its evening pulse, with beanbags on the sand, fire shows and live music after sunset. It is the place to meet friends without turning the bay into a neon laboratory experiment.
Rocky patches break up parts of the shoreline, and small jellyfish turn up in the shallows. Bring sandals for wandering the edges, then settle near the south end for the cleanest sweep of sand and the best uninterrupted sunset view.
