Baan Por Jai
Description
Soft mattresses, hot showers and fridges in every room are Baan Por Jai’s rather sensible answer to the usual budget-stay roulette. The rooms have that cheerful 1990s Thai hotel look – plenty of furniture, bright practical fittings and none of the minimalist concrete sulking.
It sits just off the main road in a quiet pocket, with restaurants, shops, massage places and scooter hire close by. The beach is a short walk away, while the nearby local eating spots keep dinner prices well below the beachfront tax.
Air conditioning, kettles, daily drinking water and strong Wi-Fi cover the bits that matter after a long island day. Room cleaning and fresh towels are available daily, with a box left at reception to signal that you want the room done.
Baan Por Jai suits travellers who want a clean, functional base around Long Beach without paying for a pool they will inspect once and then abandon. There is no breakfast, which is fine: several better morning options sit around the corner, along with the Swedish school Sanuk nearby.
