Description
Six washers and six dryers take the misery out of laundry day, which is about as close to civic progress as Koh Lanta gets. The machines are new, spotless, and simple enough to operate without decoding a laminated instruction sheet from 1997.
A coin changer sits on site, along with vending machines for detergent and fabric softener. Bring two detergent packets for a small load if you want clothes to come out properly fresh; one packet is optimism in a plastic sachet.
There are tables and chairs for the wait, plus a fan and Wi-Fi, so drying time can become a coffee break minus the coffee. Loads are self-service from basket to dryer, with enough machines to keep the queue from becoming a tropical endurance sport.
This place suits anyone staying long enough to run out of clean shirts, especially riders and beach regulars with damp towels multiplying in their rooms. The seating area is the useful bit: sit down, charge a phone, and leave with luggage that no longer smells faintly of ferry terminal.
