Phulanta Resort
Description
Sea-view balconies, a quiet hillside setting and a scooter ready at reception give Phulanta Resort its useful edge. The rooms are simple, tidy and roomy enough to disappear from the island heat for an afternoon.
The hill buys peace and a wide view, with beaches, restaurants and a 7-Eleven down below. It also means a proper uphill return, especially after dinner or a long beach day. A scooter is less a luxury here than a sensible mechanical ally.
Breakfast is small and straightforward, with eggs available and a longer morning window than most small stays on the island. Pin, Pen and Ali know the island logistics well, from taxis and ferry connections to day trips and bike hire.
Pick Phulanta for a calm base above the busier roadside strip, not for stepping straight from your room onto the sand. The large balconies are the point: coffee there before heading out beats staring at another generic hotel wall.
