Unseen Bungalow
Description
Bamboo bungalows circle a small, leafy garden a few minutes behind the main road. The useful bits are all here: fan, mosquito net, firm bed, front patio, free coffee, drinking water and Wi-Fi.
Rooms are cheap and stripped back to sleep-and-shower territory. Open gaps above the bathroom walls let air through, along with the occasional frog and mosquito; nature has been granted a key.
The beach, roadside restaurants and small shops sit within a short walk, putting this in a handy middle-island base for moving around Koh Lanta. The nearby shore gets rocky at low tide, so save a proper swim for a better stretch of coast.
Bring earplugs. Roosters start early, traffic carries from the road and the mosque is nearby, while the garden itself stays pleasantly calm once the island’s feathered alarm system has finished its broadcast.
