Lanta Halabala Resort
Description
Sunset from the pool deck is the reason to book Lanta Halabala: Khlong Nin spreads out below, the sea fills the horizon, and the hill earns its rent around dusk.
The rooms are simple bungalows with air conditioning, fans, fridges, hot water and small balconies. Pick a sea-view unit if the view matters; some balconies look straight over the coast, while jungle sits close behind the hill rooms.
A morning dip in the pool beats baking on Khlong Nin beach before lunch. Fatty Chubby, run down on the main road by the same family, handles the useful post-swim food mission with burgers and pasta – a pleasantly odd but welcome rescue from another pad thai.
Khlong Nin’s beach, restaurants and 7-Eleven sit downhill within walking distance. The return climb is steep enough to make a scooter the sensible choice, especially after dark; this place rewards legs, engines and anyone who values quiet over being planted on the road.
