Rayanee Resort
Description
Private bungalows sit in a leafy garden a short walk from Lanta Old Town, with the east-coast quiet that disappears once you hit the west-side beach strip. Rooms have air conditioning, hot water, a fridge, kettle, coffee and a balcony for doing very little extremely well.
The garden setting is the point here. You get space, greenery and enough privacy to read a book without acquiring somebody else’s playlist as a subplot. There is no beach on the doorstep, so this suits Old Town wanderers and scooter riders.
Old Town’s wooden shophouses, cafés and seafood restaurants are about ten minutes on foot, while the pier is close for onward boats. Scooter rental is nearby, and the owners know the island well enough to point you towards routes, restaurants and transport without turning the stay into a guided tour.
Stay here for a slow few nights on the island’s less developed side, especially if you prefer evening walks in Old Town to beach-road bars. The mattresses are firm, in the Thai tradition of beds occasionally doubling as geological features.
