Echo Samadhi Retreat
Description
Massaman curry fries with crispy chicken are the sort of bar snack that makes a scooter ride inland feel entirely rational. Echo Samadhi pairs them with a leafy bungalow garden, a pond, little streams and enough space between rooms to hear insects.
The rooms are large, recently refreshed and properly set up for longer stays: strong air-con, hot showers, soft beds, balconies or porches, chairs, tables and a drying line for beach gear. Family rooms have room to breathe, and the free drinking-water refill station saves a small mountain of plastic bottles.
Klong Nin’s beach and shops sit a short scooter ride away, while the retreat itself stays tucked into a quiet jungle neighbourhood. Rent wheels for this one; walking to dinner in the dark would be an ambitious bit of theatre.
Kimi runs sound-bath and breathwork sessions on site, which fit the calm setting far better than a neon cocktail cannon ever could. Settle in for several nights, use the garden as your decompression chamber, and keep an eye out for the black cat and the occasional monitor lizard.
