Andaman Sunflower
Description
Bamboo bungalows tucked into a thick garden near Long Beach, each with a hammock on the porch and birds supplying the morning soundtrack. The better bungalows face the garden, with proper beds, roomy bathrooms and enough shade to make an afternoon book session dangerously plausible.
Nula and Norman have kept the place personal for years, and it feels more like staying in someone’s cared-for garden than checking into a standard resort. Free drinking water, strong Wi-Fi and help arranging transport remove the usual small-island faff.
The appeal is the stripped-back hut experience: fan-cooled rooms, mosquito nets, timber walls and very little separating your bedtime from the local rooster’s industrial shift. No air conditioning, no hot water and no restaurant means this is for travellers who like open-air living and plan to eat along Long Beach.
A short walk reaches the sand, while the garden track keeps the bungalows away from the main-road racket. Pick a garden-facing bungalow; the cheaper units lose the best part of the property.
