Painon Resort
Description
Four private rooms, big king beds and verandas facing greenery give Painon Resort the feel of a small island base. The rooms are new, modern and properly roomy, with air conditioning, smart TVs, Wi-Fi, beach towels and a beach bag already sorted.
It sits back from the main road in a quiet pocket near the beach, with a 7-Eleven within walking distance. That makes it good for a lazy beach stay, though Koh Lanta still makes more sense on two wheels; scooters are available on site, with a cash deposit option.
Groups can take over the whole four-room setup without turning the holiday into a resort wristband exercise. Breakfast, laundry and transport arrangements are available through the family-run property, while the setting stays low-key and leafy.
The bathrooms have flooding showers, and mosquitoes are part of the garden package. Pick a room with time for the veranda: it is the best bit after a dusty lap around the island.
