Description
Three minutes from Saladan Pier, Journey Hostel is built for the ferry arrival that wants a proper bed, cold air-con and zero need to negotiate a long taxi ride. The rooms are compact, with shared bathrooms outside, but the beds come with thick duvets and pillows that do their job rather well.
The communal space has a big table, sofa, TV and air-con, plus a small kitchen with fridge, microwave, crockery and hot water. Tea, coffee, toast, jam, bananas and bottled water keep the first-hour-on-the-island panic from becoming an expensive convenience-store expedition.
A garden gives the building a bit of breathing room, while Saladan’s restaurants, main road and food street sit within walking distance. This place nails the useful overnight stop before an early boat, and it also suits a few quiet days based around scooter rides north.
Rooms are small, beds are firm, and the shower pressure is light. Pack a charging adaptor or power bank if your gadgets travel as a small electronic family.
