Description
Sea-view terraces, big beds and a five-minute walk to the beach are the headline here. Lanta Siri sits by the start of Horizon Road, with a 7-Eleven, fruit stalls, local food and restaurants almost on the doorstep.
The rooms are bright, spacious and simply set up, with new-looking furniture, a small fridge, drying rack, toiletries and thick curtains. Some rooms have windows on two sides, which brings in plenty of light and a useful cross-breeze. Sea-view rooms are the pick; open the terrace doors and the hilltop position does the air-conditioning’s job for free.
Daily room cleaning, fresh water, strong Wi-Fi, laundry and scooter hire make it especially good for a longer budget stay. The hill location also keeps the rooms feeling fresher than much of the lower roadside strip, a small geographical victory over tropical damp.
Road noise and sound between rooms can carry, so light sleepers should choose a quieter-facing room where possible. There is no TV, which leaves little to do except go outside and notice Koh Lanta.
