Lanta Ray Bay Hotel
Description
C31 has a wraparound balcony with street and sea views, provided you’re happy with 39 stairs before breakfast. Lanta Ray Bay sits in Klong Nin, a minute or two from the beach, 7-Eleven, fruit stalls, massage shops and enough restaurants to avoid repeating dinner by accident.
The rooms are simple, clean and practical, with air-con, mini fridges, wardrobes and hot showers. Larger superior rooms add proper space, while the standard rooms are compact and short on surfaces for unpacking a long stay.
Breakfast is included and leans into eggs and fruit, with a buffet behind the lobby in high season. Scooter rental, laundry and tour arrangements are handled on site, which saves a surprising amount of island faff.
Pick a quieter room away from the main road if sleep matters more than balcony traffic noise. The small gym is there for people determined to make holiday exercise happen, but the long beach nearby has better scenery and fewer machines glaring back at you.
