Serene Lanta Resort
Description
Breakfast arrives on your bungalow terrace, with proper espresso and banana pancakes that have no business being this good before a beach day. Serene Lanta is a small cluster of modern bungalows around a planted courtyard, five minutes on foot from the beach and close to shops, massages and dinner spots.
The rooms have cold air-con, large beds, hot showers and unusually forceful water pressure – a minor miracle on an island where showers sometimes favour philosophy over plumbing. Each bungalow has enough privacy to avoid hearing your neighbour’s entire holiday plan, though the walls are not built for a heavy-metal convention.
Yuth and Moh keep the practical side of Koh Lanta moving: airport and ferry transfers, island trips, laundry, snorkel gear and newer scooters can all be sorted here. The resort sits well for exploring both the southern beaches and Old Town, so a scooter turns it into a very capable base.
Book breakfast for the terrace and use the water refill at reception before heading out. The short road walk towards the beach has no sidewalk, so take a torch after dark and keep an eye on passing scooters.
