Chada Lanta Beach
Description
Gold Suite terraces open straight onto the pool, which is exactly the sort of feature that ruins normal hotel corridors forever. Chada Lanta is built for families who regard swimming as a full-time occupation, with shallow pool sections, a kids’ pool and a slide.
The resort sits on a broad west-facing beach near Saladan, so sunset needs no transport plan or heroic trek through sand. Low tide pulls the water a long way out, but the gentle shore still leaves room for a swim. Keep an eye out for jellyfish in the sea.
Rooms are large, garden-filled grounds give everyone some breathing space, and the beach is steps from the pool area. Pool-access rooms are the strongest booking here; waking up and falling directly into water is a fine use of architecture.
Breakfast covers the basics well, though vegetarian choices are slim. Eat dinner at Friendly Restaurant just outside the entrance, where the food has more point than a resort menu and the bar prices don’t require a small inheritance.
