Oasis Yoga Bungalows
Description
A raised, open-air yoga studio looks into the trees, with Yin, gentle movement, meditation and Ashtanga-style flow on the programme. Kate and Carina teach with proper attention to alignment and options, so beginners won’t spend an hour wondering where their left hip went.
The restaurant is far better than the standard resort-cafe survival rations. Get the enormous healthy salad, a Power Frap if coffee and coconut are your preferred fuel source, or settle in over breakfast, smoothies and strong coffee. The Mexican menu is worth catching when it appears.
Bungalows sit back from Long Beach behind leafy grounds, a shaded pool and a short path to the sand. Rooms are spacious, simply finished and comfortable, with particularly good bathrooms in the renovated bungalows. Shops, pharmacies and massage places are close enough to reach on foot.
Oasis suits a slow week built around morning practice, pool time and meals that don’t arrive in a deep fryer. Families fit naturally here; solo travellers looking for a busy social hostel scene should choose elsewhere. The whole property is non-smoking, including the grounds and pool area.
