Andaman Dive Adventure
Description
Ko Haa’s lagoons, reef walls and the occasional turtle or whale shark are the proper backdrop here, reached on a roomy dive boat with breakfast, snacks and curry between descents. The boat has a slightly Wes Anderson look, which is far preferable to looking like a floating skip.
Open Water, Advanced Open Water, Rescue, Nitrox and deep-diving courses run alongside fun dives, with pool training before first ocean dives. Chris, Geang, Jose, Kristina, Max and Stephen are the names to know for calm instruction and proper skill practice, especially after time out of the water.
Small dive groups keep the underwater side focused, while the boat crew handle cylinders and kit between dives. Equipment is clean and well maintained, and vegetarian or vegan food is available on board.
This outfit costs more than the bargain dive shops, and spends the difference on preparation, comfortable boats and instructors who give beginners room to settle in. Divers looking for a proper course base or several days around Ko Haa will get far more from it than snorkellers, whose day follows the dive schedule.
