Description
Pool-access rooms at Lanta Sand put the water directly beyond your terrace, with the beach a few steps farther on. The beachfront units are the pick here, especially the plunge-pool suites and larger two-bedroom layouts with separate sleeping space for families.
Four pools spread the swimmers around, while the beach bar, shaded sunbeds and hammocks handle the more demanding business of watching the Andaman Sea do its thing. Breakfast has enough range to prevent the usual third-morning buffet despair, and the spa and small fitness room cover rainy-afternoon plans.
Saladan and the island’s main road are close enough for scooter runs, and scooters are available on site. Ask Merry at reception for island pointers, then use the resort as a base for beach days and dive trips.
Some older rooms and private pools show their age, so pay for the newer-feeling pool-access or beachfront categories. The beach-facing pool rooms are the prize: terrace, pool, sea, repeat – civilisation had one good idea after all.
